Gabriel H. Tucci was born in Montevideo, Uruguay. He received a B.Sc. in Mathematics and an Electrical Engineering Degree (M.Sc. equivalent) from the Universidad de la Republica in Uruguay in 2002 and 2003 respectively. He later received a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Texas A&M University in 2009.

After graduation from Texas A&M he joined Bell Labs (Murray Hill NJ), where he is a member of Technical Staff in the Industrial Mathematics and Operations Research department. His interests are in analysis, classical and non-commutative probability, random matrices, statistical analysis, stochastic processes, signal processing, geometry and their applications to communication theory, covariance estimates, network theory, machine learning and analysis of large complex data sets.
