Mauricio Cortes is a Member of Technical Staff in the Computing and Software Principles Research Department of the Enabling Computing Technology Research Center at Bell Laboratories, the innovation arm of Alcatel-Lucent. His research interests include Event Processing, Coordination Languages, and Sensor Networks.

Mauricio received M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from State Universtiy of New York at Stony Brook, and a B.Sc. degree in Computer Science from Universidad de los Andes - Bogota,Colombia.
