Frequently Asked Questions

What does this utility do?
This software is intended for interactive or offline exploratory data analysis.

What are feature vectors and why would one want to use them?
A feature vector in this context is an ordered collection of attributes from the main list. This can be used to select a subspace where a natural metric exists, i.e., the similarity of objects can be compared in a meaningful way. The feature vectors can be passed internally to pattern recognition algorithms or saved for external analysis. The order of the list is used in a feature vector (parallel coordinate) plot, that means it can be manipulated to sort the coordinates in some useful way.
